Thanks to all who attended our first-ever SmileParty on Facebook Live last night! We had a great time taking impressions with you, and we hope Dr. Sulitzer’s thorough tutorial really helped. In case you missed it (or if you just want to watch it again), here’s a recording of the entire event:
We received so many good questions throughout the SmileParty, and because we didn’t have time to address them all, we’re tackling a few more of them here.
The best method for removing the tray is to grab it on both sides and slowly pull the tray straight down or straight up from your teeth with even pressure. Avoid pulling the tray forward. It’s normal for the putty to feel tight against your teeth, as it’s hardened a bit during the 3½ minutes it’s been in your mouth. You might even hear a soft popping sound once the tray comes off your teeth. That’s normal! Of course, if you have any questions please contact us at 800-848-7566.
Our invisible aligner system is designed for minor to moderate teeth correction, including spacing, crowding, rotations and some bite correction. However, the best way to find out if our aligners are a good option for you is to purchase an impression kit or schedule a scan in one of our SmileShops so our dental professionals can evaluate your specific needs. Then, they’ll be able to prescribe the best treatment for you.
Your treatment will be overseen by an orthodontist or general dentist licensed in your state who will prescribe your aligners and monitor your treatment from beginning to end. Our entire process is done remotely, and the supervision is done virtually. This eliminates the need for inconvenient office visits and saves you from wasting time in the waiting room. We’re all about clinical quality and convenience.
A woman after our own heart. Good question! You do need to remove your aligners while eating, smoking or drinking, even if you’re consuming clear liquids. The only beverage you should sip while wearing aligners is cool water. We also recommend avoiding drinking hot beverages with aligners in, as they may change the shape of the aligner itself. Simply remove your aligners during your morning coffee or happy hour beverage, then brush your teeth and pop the aligners back in when you’re finished.
While it’s difficult to guarantee the results of any medical or dental procedure, we assure you that your treatment will be closely supervised by a licensed dental professional who will monitor your progress. If at the end of your plan your results don’t look exactly like what was prescribed, you may be eligible for additional aligners. Assigned on a case-by-case basis, additional aligners can give your teeth the final nudge they’re needing to get you the straighter smile you deserve. As always, call us with questions about your specific case.
