What are clear aligners?

What are clear aligners? SmileDirectClub doctor-directed clear aligners, sometimes called clear braces, are BPA-free plastic trays that fit snugly over teeth to safely straighten them.

SmileDirectClub is the largest provider of doctor-directed, at-home clear aligners. Our clear aligners are more affordable, more comfortable, and more convenient than traditional metal braces. Say goodbye to brackets and wires and hello to a smile you’ll love with SmileDirectClub.

What are clear aligners?

Clear aligners are BPA-free plastic trays that fit snugly over teeth to gently shift them into the desired position. SmileDirectClub clear aligner therapy includes several sets of custom-made aligners, worn for 1 to 2 weeks at a time to gently shift your teeth into desired position. This process takes, on average, 6 months. Each aligner will make slight adjustments to tooth position, advancing you to the next stage of your new smile. The process is mapped out in advance, and a SmileDirectClub affiliated, duly licensed dentist or orthodontist oversees case. Every set of clear aligners in your plan is shipped to you all at once.

When are clear aligners better than braces?

Traditional metal braces typically cost upward of $7000. In-office clear aligners average around $5000, while SmileDirectClub clear aligners are only $1850. We work with licensed dentists and orthodontists through a process called remote teledentistry. Your doctor prescribes your smile plan, oversees your case, and checks in with you remotely every 90 days. By removing unnecessary visits to a doctor’s office, we pass thousands of dollars in savings directly on to you. We also accept HSA, FSA, and CareCredit. Plus, most insurance companies offer reimbursement.

Braces correct more severe issues, including overbite, underbite, crossbite. Braces can also help treat jaw disorders. Clear aligners work best for those with mild to moderate teeth correction, including gaps and crowding.
