We’ve teamed up with Shawn Mendes to support two awesome causes. With every purchase of invisible aligners in Canada between February 26 to March 4, 2019, we’ll donate $10 to SickKids Foundation, where they’re fighting to make every kid a healthy kid. For every purchase of invisible aligners made in the U.S. during those same dates, we’ll donate $10 to Pencils of Promise (PoP) to help bring quality education to kids around the world.
The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is Canada’s largest pediatric academic health sciences center, supporting child health research, learning, and care. Their mission is clear: “Healthier Children. A Better World.” And they’re taking on the biggest challenges in children’s health, from cancer and cystic fibrosis to autism and heart conditions.
“We believe fighting for the health and well-being of children is one of the most powerful ways to improve society,” they write on their website.
A few years ago, Mendes learned about SickKids and had the chance to go to the hospital near his hometown in Canada.
“I visited the SickKids hospital in Toronto a few years ago and was just moved to try to help however I could,” Mendes says. “At the time, I went in and did a performance for some of the kids, and what amazed me was how much strength and perseverance and courage they had.”
Mendes is also a big supporter of Pencils of Promise, a nonprofit that works with communities across the globe to build schools and create programs to unlock educational opportunities for kids – no matter where they come from or what resources they have. Since 2008, PoP has built over 500 schools throughout Ghana, Guatemala, and Laos and is providing education to more than 100,000 students.
After meeting the kids at SickKids and discovering the educational opportunities PoP has created for thousands of children, Mendes decided that he wanted to help bring smiles to the kids however he could.
We knew we had to help, too, and we’re honored to announce that we’re donating $10 to SickKids Foundation for every invisible aligner purchase in Canada and $10 to Pencils of Promise for every aligner purchase in the U.S. from February 26 to March 4, up to our donation goal of $100,000. Besides straightening your smile, these aligners come with a good cause.
“Our common message of bringing smiles to the world together was so perfect to be able to also give back and help raise funds for this incredible cause,” Mendes says.
