Your entire treatment can be done in the comfort of your home, on your schedule.
Decide which events you will need a professional photographer for and which you or friends/family might do: engagement and other pre-day dinners, rehearsal, wedding day posed shots, ceremony, reception, and honeymoon departure.
Research photographers near you, check their work online, and read reviews of their work. Get references. Speak to couples, wedding planners, and event site staffers who have worked with them.
Be sure to think about your photography preference. Do you want elegant fashion shots with great lighting, or candid, impromptu event shots, or something else? What style does the photographer specialize in? Will they work with you to practice posing and offer tips on makeup and hair for you based on your specific look, comfort, and personality?
Next, plan your budget. Make sure the photographer is available on your event dates, and ask for price estimates on processing, prints, delivery (disks, albums, prints), color, black-and-white, and timing. Think about what you will want: prints (several sizes), albums, computer files for use online and printing for gifts, thank-you notes, and more. Know if you can do the processing yourselves, and compare budget and quality of processing the prints yourselves or having professional delivery. In either case, make sure you receive a disk or downloadable files of all photos for future use.
Plan rehearsal sessions. Talk about indoor and outdoor shots, natural and planned lighting for different settings, including the walk down the aisle and your first turn at the altar as Mr. & Mrs.
Practice your smile every day. On the wedding day, keep moving as the photographer snaps; you’ll look more natural and relaxed. Experts suggest smiling with your teeth slightly parted, but try moving upper and lower lips, mouth fully open and partially closed. It’s good to have a variety of poses.
Test a variety of hairstyles, lipstick, and makeup colors. Blue-toned lipsticks help make your teeth look whiter. Try this best-selling berry red lipstick from Nars for a look that will make your smile pop.
Your beautiful bridal smile reflects the glow of love that will last a lifetime. Enjoy every moment!
